Applications & Websites
Meadowbrook Christian School continues to integrate technology into classroom instruction in the form of web-based applications, sites, and tools through Chromebooks and iPads. We believe online resources greatly benefit our students by providing unique educational experiences which enhance learning. However, some of these resources obtain personal identifiable information about our students, and due to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we must obtain parental consent before our students can utilize these websites and applications.
COPPA is a federal law which protects children under age 13 and ensures the privacy and safety of their personal information online. This law permits schools to obtain signed parental consent for each child with which we can agree to the collection of personal information by these parties. This eliminates the need for individual parental consent to be given directly to the app or site and allows us to provide your child with effective web-based tools for learning.
While knowing these resources are vital to educational programming in the 21 st century, we also recognize the need to protect your child’s online privacy and personal information. The Information Systems Department reviews the privacy statements of each web-based resource and we encourage you to do the same. All approved applications are listed below. Parents should review this list frequently to stay up to date on the latest online resources approved for use at MCS.
