SALT (Student Activities & Leadership Training)

Each year the high school elects students to serve as a part of SALT, MCSs Student Government.

The purpose of this organization is to provide students with opportunities to use and develop their leadership skills. Much of this involves planning activities (see below). This group is advised by Pastor Jim Terwilliger and Beth George.

  • Executive Council
  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Student Chaplain
  • High School Representatives – two per class
  • Middle School Representatives – two or three per grade (operates as a separate entity)


The following list includes the SALT leadership responsibilities:

  • Pep Rallies,
  • See You at the Pole,
  • National Day of Prayer,
  • Christmas Spirit Week and Christmas Parties, and
  • the High School Formal.

They also help coordinate student Bible studies, chapel , and various school projects.

Leadership skills are also developed through attendance at selected leadership conferences, most recently the Maxwell Leadercast and the ACSI Middle School Leadership Conference.
